Pregnancy Pilates

Prepare your body for pregnancy and labour with safe, gentle exercise which aims to strengthen the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles.  Beneficial for good posture and alignment, strength, flexibility, balance and relaxation. 

The benefits of pilates in pregnancy:
- strengthens the pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles
- improved postural awareness and alignment
- improved spinal and pelvic stability
- decreased pain from pregnancy related ailments e.g SPD, pelvic girdle pain
- maintenance of circulation and flexibility
- relaxation and improved breathing, which helps with labour and birth
- a sense of well-being and greater self-esteem

Pregnancy Pilates is a safe, gentle series of controlled flowing movements designed to strengthen the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles which may weaken during pregnancy. Breathing, movement and postures which are beneficial for labour are covered. Exercises are done using soft mats, exercise bands and birthing balls.

Matwork Classes given by a Chartered Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with individual attention given to each person.


Classes run on Thursday evening at 7:30pm. Costing £49.20 for a six week pass that is valid for ten weeks or £9.00 per class on a drop-in basis.
