Postnatal Pilates

There are a few great ways to re-shape and regain the figure after giving birth, pilates is definately one of them!

Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on controlled breathing, adopting good posture and improving stability around the pelvis and shoulder region. It consists of smooth, flowing movements which should be gentle and pain free at all times making it an excellent form of exercise for new mothers.

The Benefits:

  • Strengthen the pelvic floor and muscles around the pelvis

  • Improve flexibility, especially around the spine and shoulder area

  • Assists with relaxation

  • Improve posture and correct any issues that may have arisen during pregnancy

  • Ease any aches and pains

The one hour mat based class centres on developing a strong core with combined movements of the arms or legs. Following a pilates class you will feel relaxed, rejuvenated and have a greater sense of well being.
